Grateful for these achievements as our grantees and peers have taken over the leadership, moving from scholarship awards to community projects since 2015.
To celebrate the 10th Anniversary of Grain de Sel Togo, Inc., volunteers decided to visit an orphanage in Lomé: Orphelinat la Solution.
They donated meal kits to the orphanage, and planted trees together with their hosts.
Their conversations(both guests and hosts) was mind blowing, showing the impact of our small program on these students.
When the orphan students were asked the following question: What Do You Want To Become (Que voulez-vous devenir plus tard )? Some of them said that they would like to be diplomat, musicians, pastors, professors, teachers, etc.
Clearly they expressed their ambitions to achieve great things in their life.
The fun part part of this meeting was tree planting in 3 groups, each representing countries (continent) where Grain de Sel Togo, Inc. has been incorporated:
Group 1 - African mahogany (for Africa) as local solution to local problems, including medical benefits, carpentry, construction, roadside trees to reduced erosion, etc.
Group Group 2 - cashew nut trees (for US), representing: growth, marketing, and exporting the nut to the US. Business prospects!
Group 3 - Mango trees (for Europe): use mango fruit as model to create and expand businesses from African countries to the Europeans - combatting postharvest loss due to the lack of technology to absorb and process the excess of mango fruits that are lost every season, every year in Africa.
Please join us and celebrate the new leadership of our organization by congratulating their team: Nobel Segbeaya Nicopolis Ekoue Séni Souglimpo Emilienne Languie, Bruno Mensah, Emmanuel Keleou, Emmanuel Kankoue, Norbert Wilson and their peers Dr. Brad Hounkpati.
Special thanks fot the host at Orphelinat la Solution.
Grateful to friends and families who have been supporting our organization since its inception.
